Printers cause more problems than just about any other piece of office equipment.

Every brand and every model is different and they seem to change every week.

As a general rule, inkjets are good for small runs of high quality colour, as long as there isn't too much colour, such as photo's. If you have a lot of colour, you will need photo quality paper. Inkjets are generally around 10 times the cost of running a laser printer, but of course this varies between models.

Laser printers are better if you do a lot of printing. They have less problems with maintenance and are cheaper per copy.

• Do you want to be able to have it attached to the network without it having to be attached to a PC? If so, make sure it has a network card or wireless card.
• Are you going to use it with PC's that have more than one OS? If So, make sure it comes with drivers for all the various OS's, including 64 bit if you are using one of those.
• How much are the replacement ink cartridges?
